What is the Little Mike the Ant™ daycare preview?
MEET3G invites daycare directors, preschool lead teachers and early-childhood program coordinators to review a no-cost supplemental story activity. The original Little Mike and the Helpful Leaf story shows how noticing a need, asking permission to help and working together can make a difference. This is a resource review, not a claim that any named daycare is participating or endorses the product.
Short original read-aloud, family discussion and comprehension questions.
Tap-to-reveal vocabulary and kindness prompts with illustrated print sheets.
Teacher-led circle time adaptable to children and staff schedules.
How a director or lead teacher can evaluate the resource
- Preview the material. Read the free Helpful Leaf mini-book and check the 20 interactive learning cards.
- Check local fit. Confirm with your own staff that the language, activity length, accessibility and safety arrangements suit your age group and center's policies. This resource is optional enrichment, not a substitute for your approved program.
- Try one brief staff-led session, if appropriate. Use the 20-minute circle-time guide, or start with a five-minute read-and-talk.
- Share adult-only feedback, if desired. Tell us whether the directions were clear, whether the preparation was manageable and what other resources would help your educators. There is no requirement to submit a report.
No student information, photographs, records, enrollment lists or child contact details should be sent to MEET3G. Do not include any individual child's behavior, health or assessment information in feedback.
Sample 20-minute schedule
| Time | Activity | Why it helps |
|---|---|---|
| 0–3 min | What does helping look like? | Activate familiar words and ideas. |
| 3–8 min | Read The Helpful Leaf | Model listening and story language. |
| 8–12 min | Ask three recall questions | Practice oral comprehension. |
| 12–16 min | Explore vocabulary cards | Use help, kind, friend and team. |
| 16–20 min | Model one kindness action | Connect words with respectful choices. |
Educators may use gestures, pictures, repeated phrases and oral answers. For toddlers, shorten the activity and avoid small loose paper pieces or props that could pose choking hazards. Adult supervision and local safeguarding procedures apply.
Questions for the adult reviewer
- Could your team prepare the activity in five minutes or less?
- Were the story words and questions suitable for your program?
- Which cards were most useful to the educator facilitating the session?
- Would a shorter toddler adaptation, bilingual guide or family take-home sheet be useful?
- Would you recommend improvements before a larger optional trial?
Only share general staff observations. We do not request or need names, photos or private information about children or families.
What does it cost?
The original story, online mini-book, 20 interactive/printable flashcards and daycare guide are free. There is no sign-up fee, obligation to purchase or mandatory classroom reporting. The children's book and Activity Box are separate, optional paid products for adults and are not required for the free preview.
How do we ask about a partnership?
Directors or adult coordinators who want to discuss a possible staff review may use the MEET3G / Little Mike the Ant contact page. Please identify your organization's name and an adult business contact only; do not provide information about children. A listing here does not mean that any daycare has partnered with or endorsed MEET3G.
